The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is urging land owners that even though Autumn doesn’t begin until September 23rd right now is a great time to order trees for fall planting.

Landowners plant tens of thousands of trees each year with benefits to their properties and to the watershed community.

Ian Jean, Forestry & Land Stewardship Specialist says people who plant trees can see benefits at the property scale in terms of wind protection & shade and more birds and wildlife.

Spring and fall are both good times to plant trees due to the weather being cooler and while they are in dormancy in both seasons they are better able to handle the stress of being transplanted.

Fall orders are being accepted until September 15th.
