Feds provide nearly $18 Million to Food Banks Canada to fight for Menstral Equity

Food Banks Canada, one of the largest organizations to fight food insecurity is set to receive just under $18 million to run a federal national pilot program to address barriers to affordability and stigma that some Canadians face when accessing menstrual products.

The pilot will test the distribution of free menstrual products to community organizations serving diverse low-income populations.

They will also partner with several grassroots organizations already advancing menstrual equity to scale up education & awareness activities.

Food Banks Canada is an organization which is able to reach communities & individuals in need.

The pilot aims to provide insight in advancing menstrual equity from coast to coast.
