The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is requesting a meeting with CIBC after they were notified of a future closure of the bank branch serving the community.
Once the branch at 47 1st Avenue South is closed on January 18th, 2024 the customers will be moved to the Hanover Branch at 338 10th Street.
Council sites the lack of a public meeting prior to the notification with Council is requesting an opportunity to engage the public, the bank & area CIBC customers of their closure plans.
Their request is being sent through the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
