Grey Bruce Public Health is set to bring free, in-school vision screenings for senior kindergarten students in schools across Grey Bruce.
The screenings will occur in November in the Bruce Grey Catholic District Board and in the spring for the Bluewater District School Board.
The screenings will be conducted during the school day by trained Lions Club volunteers and overseen by Public Health.
They will consist of three simple, non-invasive tests designed to screen for young children’s most common vision impairments.
They include a test with a handheld machine called an autorefractor, a test for visual acuity and a test for depth perception.
