Traffic Complaint Leads to Charges

Huron County OPP has charged a South Huron resident after a traffic complaint.

OPP was called to a location on Kippen Road in Huron East at around 7:30pm on December 26th. A witness called saying they saw a person believed to be under the influence get into their vehicle and leave the roadway entering a ditch.

Officers located the vehicle and while speaking with the driver determined they were impaired by a drug. Police also found throwing knives and other controlled substances inside the vehicle.

The 35 year old of South Huron has been charged with a slew of crimes including;

– Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

– Operation while Prohibited,

– Possession of a C ontrolled Substance – Fentanyl,

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine,

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methylphenidate,

– Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was Prohibited or Restricted Weapon,

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (four counts).

The accused will appear in Goderich court next month.
