Bruce Power and its supplier partners have made a joint $100,000 donation to the new Saugeen Sparks Training Centre.

The centre helps provide hands on introductory skilled trades training with the goal to increase interest in careers in skilled trades.

The organization celebrated its first class of graduates on December 6th with 45 students, 24 taking part in the welding program and 21 in residential construction.

Rob Stanley, Saugeen Sparks Executive Director says the donation is a testament to the industry’s goals of empowering youth and adults with hands-on training.

Saugeen Sparks this spring will begin to hold night class programming for residential construction and welding programs at the Saugeen District Senior School.
