OPP Arrest Impaired Driver at RIDE Checkpoint

South Bruce OPP have arrested an impaired driver who was stopped a checkpoint.

On January 28th police was conducting a RIDE check on Highway 9 in Bervie when they stopped one vehicle.

Officers had been determined the driver had been drinking.

The driver was arrested and taken in for breath tests.

As a result a 27 year old man from Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with an Open Container of Liqour, Improper Muffler, Unauthorized Licence Plates and Failing to Surrender an Insurance Card.

The accused will appear in Walkerton court in March.
