South Bruce OPP is encouraging residents to adopt an app for their phones which can be crucial in helping pinpoint missing people.
The What3Words app that could help save a life uses 3 works to pinpoint a location which can help app users and police.
South Bruce OPP Constable Kevin Martin explains exactly how the app works to mark a location.
“If you get lost, you open the app you push the spot on the grid and it will generate 3 words and those words are unique to that exact spot on the planet.” said Martin.
With the 3 words marked to that unique location, that information can be shared and help police and other emergency services easily track down those who could be missing.
The app is available to download on smartphone devices.
