The SIU has cleared an officer of any wrongdoing following a shooting in Seaforth.
On October 18th, Huron County OPP responded to a call about a stolen vehicle in Seaforth in the morning.
Officers found the vehicle and followed it in an unmarked police car to a home in town and when police approached the vehicle an altercation ensued.
At some point, an officer discharged their weapon in the stolen vehicle before it fled.
A 35 year old man and 34 year old woman were shot by the cop.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says there was no reasonable grounds to believe the officer who fired his weapon had committed a criminal offense in connection with the injuries.
