The federal government has announced $50 million in funding for Bruce Power to support a new nuclear generation on the site.
The funding is the first major investment from the feds in expanding a large nuclear plant in decades.
Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith and Natural Resources and Energy Minister Johnathan Wilkinson marked the announcement in Ottawa on Thursday.
The proposed Bruce C Site is currently under a multi year federal impact assessment process.
