Kincardine council has agreed to put up $92,000 in the 2024 budget to improve on safety at the Kincardine Pier this summer.
The funding will help for safety on the north and south piers with council getting a report from the Pier Safety Ad Hoc Committee who came forward with many recommendations.
Among them include new ladder installations phased in over 1-4 years, enhanced signage being installed to reflect risks and 911 address as well as life saving stations increasing to four from the current two.
The committee was established last September after a drowning and a close call last year.
