West Region OPP charged nearly 200 drivers in our the region for not wearing a seat belt over the long weekend.
Across all OPP detachments in the West Region police were out in a seat belt campaign stopping 3200 vehicles across the area over Easter.
On top of the seat belt infractions, police laid 1559 speeding charges and 29 impaired driving charges.
Police are reminding drivers they can face fines of $240-1000 and two demerit points on their license if they or their passengers under the age of 16 are not wearing their seat belt or secured in a proper child car seat.
