Kincardine Blaze Estimated at $2.5 Million in Damages

A busy Saturday for the Kincardine Fire Department who responded to a blaze in the morning on Durham Market South.

Crews from Kincardine and Tiverton were assisted from stations in Saugeen Shores and Ripley with heavy smoke being seen from the roof of the Kincardine Laundromat which spread to the CRG Energy building.

The fire which was close to the Kincardine Scottish Festival saw the festival being forced to cancel the Massed Band Parade.

The fire posed its challenges due to the construction of the building but by 12:30pm was contained and the events for the Scottish Festival and Highland Games continued.

No injuries were reported in the blaze with damages estimated at $2.5 million.
