With the help of the CamSafe program, Hanover Police have been able to arrest and lay charges against a Mount Forest man.

The program allows residents to join a database of residential and commercial security cameras to help police with investigations.

In this instance Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll says the suspect wasn’t aware he was being captured on video for a series of thefts.

Hanover Police arrived at the Maplehurst Correctional Centre in Milton on Thursday where they arrested a 34 year old man of Mount Forest and charged him with two counts of Theft Under $5000, two counts of Mischief Under $5000 and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.

The accused was returned to his cell and is being held on other charges.
