Ontario is investing another $8.566 million to deliver faster service and connect care to people across Bruce-Grey and Owen Sound.

The funding coming from an additional $965 million from the 2024 budget to help Ontario’s publicly funded hospital to need the demands of the communities served.

Locally the funding will be split with Brightshores Health Systems receiving $5,962,500 million, the South Bruce Grey Health Centre getting $1,808,100 and the Hanover and District Hospital seeing $795,400.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers says the funding for hospital operating budgets will help keep emergency departments open, support inflationary or other wage pressures and reduce wait times for diagnostic imaging and surgical procedures.
