OPP Urging Drivers to Properly Secure Children in Safety Seats

Grey Bruce OPP are urging drivers to make sure they properly secure their children in their safety seats following two drivers being charged.

On August 4th OPP was patrolling on Main Street and Lakeshore Boulevard in Sauble Beach when at 3:10pm officers saw a vehicle stopped at a stop sign and noticing a child standing up in the vehicle between the driver and front passenger seats.

The driver told the officer the child was excited to see the beach, but still charged with driving while child passenger not being properly secured.

Shortly after at 3:49pm two passengers in the back of the vehicle without seat belts on were seen and police noticed a 10 month old child in a safety seat without any restraints to hold them in the car seat.

The 41 year old of Saskatoon was charged with the same offence.
