The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority has closed the Stoney Island Conservation Area for 3 months.

The property in Tiverton is closed for the need to remove around 7300 ash trees which have been severely affected by an emerald ash borer infestation.

The tree removal process poses as a severe danger and the conservation authority is strongly advising the public to respect the closure for their own safety and the safety of the workers on site.

Trespassing during this time could result in severe consequences with charges being laid, serious injury or death.
