The South Grey Bruce Youth Literacy Council is gearing up for a coming concert next month, aimed to continue their goals to support youth.

The council has partnered up with the Cooperators to welcome Higher Funktion, a high energy 8 piece funk soul band at the Cargill Community Hall.

Steve Morel, Program Coordinator for the South Grey Bruce Youth Literacy council says this event tackles many things the council is looking for from fundraising to awareness for new volunteers to support youth in literacy skills and catch up from time lost over the pandemic.

“Some of the kids have really fallen off with their literacy and numeracy so we are struggling to keep up with demand right now. This is an awareness campaign, its a fundraising campaign and recruitment campaign all in one great night of dancing and music.” said Morel.

The concert will kick off with doors opening at 7pm on October 19th with tickets costing $35.
