Man Found Dead in 2016 Off Lake Huron Identified

Police have identified a man who was found on the Lake Huron shoreline 8 years ago with the help of investigative genetic genealogy.

Human remains were found on the Lake Huron shoreline north of Port Albert on October 15th 2016.

The man was seen wearing a life jacket with OPP launching an investigation.

According to the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, the cause of death was undetermined but foul play was not suspected.

With the help of investigative genetic genealogy the Toronto Police Service used the support on July 15th with a family members DNA used to confirm the man, a 56 year old from Alberta.
