The Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario made the exciting news recently that its 14 walks have raised a total of just over a half million dollars this year.

Walks were held across the area including in Goderich which locally raised just shy of $20,000, Grand Bend with just over $9,500, Owen Sound at just over $18,600 as well as just over $14,600 in Port Elgin, Kincardine and area.

Two of the biggest fundraisers were in South Grey Bruce & Hanver which raised just under $49,000 as well as just over $41,000 in Wellington Dufferin.

The funds from the September 7th and 8th walks will be kept locally and fund essential programs and services, as well as research, education and advocacy efforts.
