While its still warm outside, the changing seasons will see colder weather arrive eventually and to make sure everyone can stay warm for the coming colder weather, the Port Elgin United Church is holding a coat drive.

Everyone is welcome to drop off any winter clothing from coats, mittens, hats and boots for kids and adults.

A drop off at the church will continue until October 17th with a pickup day for those in need on October 18th.

Dan Leaver, Port Elgin United Minister says this will be key especially for wintertime in Bruce County.

“Anything that we can do to help who might be struggling financially or just at their stretched ends of their finances we want to do that so there is a need to do this.” said Leaver.

Pickup day on October 18th will run from 10am-1pm at the Port Elgin United Church.

Drop off bins are located at the front entrance doors of the church for those looking to donate.
