Bruce County is recognizing National Truth and Reconciliation Day, serving as a significant opportunity for all Canadians to acknowledge, remember and contemplate the tragic history of the residential school system on Indigenous people and communities.

Throughout September the Every Child Matters flag has been flown across many County locations which has been lowered to half mast today.

The Bruce County Museum is also holding Community Conversations led by members of the Chippewas of Saugeen and the Chippewas of Nawash offering insights into these stories.

The weekly sessions go every Wednesday starting at 11am and will continue until November 20th.
