South Bruce residents are heading to the polls to determine the towns willingness to host a deep geological repository.

As of 10am this morning until October 28th residents can vote in favour or against South Bruce to be a willing host for the Nuclear Management Organizations waste storage facility for used nuclear fuel.

Voting will be done online as well as by phone which will need over 50 per cent of eligible voters to cast a ballot in order for the referendum to be binding.

There will be voter assistance centers in place with one at the municipal office in Teeswater and another at the Mildmay fire station.

If less than 50 per cent vote, a decision will be made by council.
