There could be an expansion coming to the Port of Goderich.

The Goderich Port Management Corporation is responsible for looking after owner and users of the Port of Goderich.

Operating the 3rd largest commercial port in Ontario there could be an expansion of 11 acres built within the next few years.

President of the Goderich Port Management Corporation, Frank Hurkmans says this expansion will allow them to handle more than what they usually take in from the port.

“The expansion is going to give us an opportunity to handle a more diverse product offering as opposed to typically the bulk materials that we handle.” said Hurkmans.

The port sees around 5 million tonnes of product moved around per year with primary shipments going out include salt, aggregates and grain.
