Local Unemployment Rate the Second Lowest in Ontario

The unemployment rate for the Stratford-Bruce Economic Region saw a drop of 0.5 percentage points to 3.8 per cent.

The recent numbers from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board show the regions unemployment rate now being the second lowest in Ontario.

Octobers numbers saw overall population increase by 400 but the labour force decreased by 2500. The biggest drop was in full time job losses of 1900 and 600 part time gains.

Agriculture was the highly boosted for October with a rise of 3.82 per cent followed by construction at 3.8 per cent with the largest drop being in the goods producing sector by 0.5 per cent.
