Hydro One Networks Fined After Wingham Workplace Injury

Hydro One Networks has been fined $262,000 after a worker was injured during a project in Wingham.

On September 25th, 2022 a worker was critically injured after a copper wire they were holding made contact with a live powerline.

The report notes Hydro One failed to ensure the work preformed on or near electrical transmission or distribution systems was performed in accordance with section 132 of the Electrical Utility Safety Rules as required by section 181.

The company plead guilty in court and was fined $250,000 with Gregory Diebold fined $12,000.
