To say road crews have been overworked to keep the roads and streets clean and safe would be an understatement.

These are comments being echoed by Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau with the region being hammered nonstop with heavy amounts of snowfall accompanied by heavy winds which led multiple roads and highways closed for extended periods of time.

While calm settles in the region, Charbonneau has nothing but praise to give for those operating the plows.

“It seems like this winter has gone on forever, our snowplow operators have been on the front lines for an awful long time and just doing fantastic work. I just want to say thanks to all those plow operators and emergency services folks for doing a fantastic job for us.” said Charbonneau.

Weather wise, snowstorms for now aren’t expected in the forecast with a more quieter weekend in terms of the storms and frigid temperatures not expected.
