It’s the 38th year for the Wingham Terry Fox Run taking place on Sunday.

As usual across Canada, cities and small towns all rally as a community to get out and be active while raising funds for cancer research.

Wingham’s leg of the run was originally organized by Dale and Linda Edgar but now Steve Jackson and Scott Miller have taken the reins for organizing the run, both of who are testicular cancer survivors.

Scott Miller says its raising funds for cancer research which is yielding results with the increased survival rates.

“Survival rates are increasing dramatically, I think its a 37% survival rate increase for men and 25% for women since 1988. That’s astounding and research is doing that in part funded by the Terry Fox Foundation that pumps $45 million into research last year alone.” said Miller.

This year Wingham has a goal to raise $24,600 with last year being a record breaking total for the area of $33,538.
