A coming event in two weeks is invited all young women out to explore local skilled trades across the region.
Dubbed Built to Lead, the event on November 5th is geared from women in grades 7-12 to look at exciting and hands on career paths into skilled trades.
The event is being hosted at the NII Advance Technology Campus and hosted in partnership with the Bluewater District School Board and Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board.
Jessica Linthorne, President and CEO of the Nuclear Innovation Institute says now is the time to get more skilled trades careers locally.
“We need the trades, not even just the nuclear sector, we think about homebuilding or new manufacturing opportunities with all the growth we are experiencing. We need the trades and there is no reason women can’t see themselves in these positions” said Linthorne.
The event will feature 25 exhibitors showcasing careers in construction, agriculture and culinary.
