The Municipality of Kincardine have released Mayor Kenneth Craig’s proposed 2026 municipal budget which is taking public feedback.
Under the new strong mayor powers given by the province which included Kincardine, the Mayor is responsible for preparing and proposing the municipal budget while council has the authority to amend it.
The proposed budget comes with a 3 per cent tax rate increase dedicated to long term asset management planning and brings a tax levy increase of 6.39 per cent.
Mayor Craig says they have worked hard to keep property tax increases as low as possible without compromising the high standard of service residents expect.
