Grey Bruce OPP are opening applications for the Youth in Policing Initiative.
The paid summer employment program is offered to youth 15-18 years of age to develop leadership skills, get hands on experience and build connections within the community.
The 2026 program runs for 8 weeks over July and August with participants getting up to 40 hours per week.
Applicants must be between 15-18 years old, be enrolled in secondary school, be a resident within the Grey Bruce OPP policed area and complete the recruitment and background clearance process.
Applications are due by February 13th.
Applicants must submit:
- A resume, and
- A short essay (maximum 1,000 words) describing:
- Why they would benefit from participating in the YIPI program
- What strengths, skills, or perspectives they would bring to the role
