The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board held their Skills Expo last week, done at the Nuclear Innovation Institute Advance Technology Campus.
The event brought elementary and intermediate students from across the region showcasing Specialist High Skills Major programs and aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real world career pathways.
The success of this year’s Expo as the school board says relied heavily on a unique peer to peer mentorship model with senior high school students collaborating with local industry experts to design and build the interactive exhibition booths and taking on leadership roles to guide younger peers through complex challenges on the event floor.
