Driver Tries Fleeing from Police, 3 Arrested

Grey Bruce OPP have charged three people after a vehicle which fled from police.

On May 19th at around 1am, OPP was conducting a RIDE program at the intersection of 10th Concession and Grey Road 18 in Meaford.

A vehicle entered the program where it was determined the driver was in breach of court imposed conditions but the driver fled as officers tried to arrested the man.

On June 4th, police attended a home in Chatsworth with the suspect again trying to flee in a stolen vehicle, striking a police cruiser with two officers suffering minor injuries.

The individual was eventually arrested after a foot chase with two others arrested inside the stolen vehicle.

A 24-year-old of Owen Sound has been charged charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Fail to comply with a release order other than to attend court (two counts)

A 36-year-old of South Bruce Peninsula has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

An 18-year-old of Kincardine has been charged with:

  • Possession of propert y obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
