The Town of Goderich is taking provisions to now allow backyard hens in town.
Residents will be allowed to up to 4 hens per property.
This will strictly just be hens as roosters are still prohibited with enclosures and run areas being at least 1.5 metres from any lot line and must not exceed 15 square metres.
Enclosures and surrounding areas must also be kept in a clean and sanitary condition.
The sale of eggs or other hen by products will not be permitted for residents.
