When it comes to fire safety, the Goderich Fire Department is urging such safety when it comes to storing lithium ion batteries.
Various rechargeable items require these types of battery cells such as e-scooters and e-bikes, large tools and battery powered lawnmowers and snowblowers.
Incidents with these batteries have been increasing and the fires are much more severe and harder to contain.
The fire department says to never try to modify your battery as it can destabilize and increase the risk of overheating, fire and explosion.
