Heading into October, Bruce County Paramedics will begin using the Medical Priority Dispatch System.
This standard is one used around the world, including in multiple Ontario communities which builds on medical calls being prioritized based on urgency with the highest priority being given to those suffering from cardiac arrest, stroke and serious injuries.
Starting October 14th, Bruce County Paramedics will be using this system which could see callers get more questions from dispatch to determine how urgent the situation is and what response will be required.
The assessment does not delay care and in many cases dispatching responders will be underway while the caller responds to questions.
