A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for the Huron Sands subdivision in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh due to low chlorine in the system.
Veolia Water put out the notice on Nov. 22 after discovering a leak in the system caused the chlorine levels to drop. The notice will be lifted once samples have been cleared by Huron Perth Public Health, which could take several days.
Until then, they ask that residents bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking, washing fruits and vegetables or making baby formula with it.
Residents will be notified when the notice is lifted.
