ACW Township passes development charges

The Township of Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh passed a development charges by-law late last month, and now any residents or developers looking to appeal the decision have a month to file their objection.

The charges will be applied to all new residential and non-residential developments on the area.

Residential charges are calculated on a per unit basis, with a single unit detached home costing $8,930, while non-residential are calculated on a square foot basis.

Anyone looking to appeal the charges with the Ontario Land Tribunal needs to file with the town clerk on or before Oct. 31.
