There is an animal rescue organization in Lucknow that is in need of both donations and homes for some of the animals they have in their care.
Cathy at the Adopt-a-Pet Rescue in Lucknow speaks to the situation currently at their facility.
“I think we have a little over 20 dogs and there is about 50 cats”
Some of the reason behind the quantity of animals being surrenders not only locally but nationally was the pandemic says Cathy.
“There was so many who went out and bought dogs on whims. Had it for companionship while it was small, didn’t do any vetting and now all of these people are calling and asking if we can take this dog in as they are going back to work.”
