Saugeen Shores council approved extended liquor sales for the playoffs at the upcoming Ontario Tankard and Scotties Curling Championships in Port Elgin.
An exemption to their Municipal Alcohol Policy was passed at Monday’s meeting to allow alcohol service to start at 10 a.m. on Jan. 28 and 29.
The policy normally permits alcohol sales to start at 11 a.m.
Council also moved the start time for their next meeting on Jan. 23 due to the bonspiel.
The opening ceremonies for the Tankard and Scotties conflict with the usual start time of 6:30, so proceedings will begin at 7:15 p.m.
