The Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Foundation is preparing for a series of key fundraisers in the next few months that help fund essential health care equipment upgrades for the community.
The Alexandra Rose Long Table Dinner is set for Sunday, August 21st. Tickets to the event are actually sold out but the public has a chance to bid in the Online Silent Auction portion of the event.
Emily Hickey, Summer Student at the Foundation says there are amazing items up for grabs in the online bidding.
“So we have some really fun stuff; a scenic flight for 2-3 people from Papple Aviation, we also have a $250 Air Canada Gift Certificate, a pizza oven from Huron Fireplace in Goderich, Oil Changes & Car Detailing from Toyota & Honda and a $500 VIA Rail gift certificate as well.”

The AMGH is also holding a Radiothon in Goderich on October 7th. The event will see the fundraiser run live from Zehrs in Goderich and it will be broadcast from 9 am until 3pm on Shoreline Classics FM. Executive Director of the AMGH Foundation tells us more.
“As you walk in the front door we are going to be there having out very own radiothon here in Goderich. It is Hometown Health. It is pretty exciting for us to be doing our own event here in Goderich. So stay tuned for all the phone number, and all those details that will be coming in the next few weeks.”
Finanlly the AMGH Foundation is preparing to run their second Smile Cookie campaign September 13th to 19th at the Huron Road location of Tim Hortons.
The Foundation is currently looking for volunteers to help decorate cookies all they need to do is contact the AMGH Foundation Office at 519-524-8508.
