The Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service in partnership with the OPP hosted a Cultural Awareness Training Session recently with other area police forces.
Last month the two police forces, as well as the Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, and West Grey Police Forces along with Neyaashiinigmiing Health Centre and Grey Bruce Health attended the session.
It took place in Neyaashiinigmiing at the Kikendaasogamig Elementary School where the participants were greeted by Chief Nadjiwon.
On completion one attendee said that there is a lot of work we have done but a lot more work to be done.
The OPP say they remain committed to improving relationships with Indigenous communities.
