The Avon Maitland District School Board’s Centre for Employment and Learning Cis preparing to offer a new free PSW certification program, with on-the-job training in a co-op format.
The program is available to anyone interested in pursuing a career as a PSW and includes OSSD credits for theory, co-op, supervised clinical and community placement as well as on the job training.
Program participants get benefits including no registration fee, available pay during co-op placement, ability to use work placement as co-op with permission, no high school diploma required to register or to complete the program and credits received can also count towards a diploma if not yet achieved.
Full details of the program are available at the Centre for Employment & Learning website but applicants should be aware the program runs from February 28th to December 16th with a combined online live and in person components.
