The Municipality of Kincardine is set to see beach raking happen today at Station Beach and MacPherson Beach.
The raking collects litter and organic matter that has washed up on the beaches.
The timing of the beach is chosen as raking dries out the sand making it more susceptible to blowing & drifting, the area is home to “relic stand” which is irreplaceable and is critical to a health beach, as well as drifting sand ends up on the boardwalk which means more maintenance required.
Anyone who heads down to the beach today, please be mindful and caution if you see the machinery.
