The Kincardine BIA has turned to council for more support for restaurants and cafes to setup outdoor patios across downtown.
Darrel Perry with the BIA came to council last week about removing barriers so businesses can have patios.
Perry made note that over the pandemic businesses on Queen Street were able to get seasonal patios in Kincardine and with more seating generated more revenue and hired more people but last summer there was a drop in seasonal patios on Queen Street.
As it stands the municipality requires all outdoor patios have Jersey barriers, or large concrete blocks between them and the street for the summer which Perry says are a big cost stopping businesses from having patios.
Its expected council will return to this discussion next month.
