Bluewater council has discussed the idea of a new dog park from the Bayfield People and Canine community group.
The location would be at the Varna Stanley complex with the group having the plan to fund the dog park entirely, removing any financial barrier for the municipality.
Issues discussed by council included insurance and liability as the municipality’s insurance provider cannot extend liability coverage to the park, putting the community group on the front for insurance.
Council did still express interest in support with a timeline for opening park looking towards June 2024.
