Bluewater Recycling: Keep pumpkins out of our bins

With Halloween in the rearview mirror, the Bluewater Recycling Association wants to remind residents that your Jack-o’-lanterns should not end up in their bins.

They say pumpkins are not recyclable and shouldn’t be disposed of in recycling bins.

Because they’re biodegradable, they recommend disposing of them in your garden, even if you don’t have a compost pile. Just remove the seeds and bury them and they’ll naturally rot away.

Otherwise, put them in your waste bin.
