The Municipality of Bluewater Council has voted not to put forth money in support of a dog park at its most recent council meeting this past Monday, April 3rd.

Council received a report that day that outlined possible locations of a dog park in the Municipality including in Varna at the Stanley Complex Ball Diamonds, Forested Property, Hensall Park, Zurich Arena along with other locations in Bayfield and more.

Bluewater Mayor Paul Klopp says he wouldn’t be against offering a municipally owned property up for a prospective dog park if a group were able to fundraise the money needed to set it up.

“If it’s done with consultation and the neighbours are agreeing. There are all those things that happen at any time, of any public property that is asked by any group who wishes to have it. I am always open to it.”
