With the launch of the Blyth Festival’s 2022 season on June 22nd patrons of the Harvest Stage on the grounds of the Blyth Fairgrounds will be welcomed when they arrive on site by an outside art installation that greets them.
The display was created and curated by the Blyth Festival Art Gallery. The gallery itself has been around for one year less than the festival itself tracing back to 1976. Carl Stevenson President of the Blyth Festival Art Gallery says it’s a matter of promotion.
“We wanted to be able to find a way to communicate with the patrons that are coming to the stage that we are open down there by the box office and there is lots to do in Downtown Blyth.”
The Gallery attached to the Blyth Festival Box office coordinates three professional juried exhibits, a community art show and secondary school student exhibit yearly. You can find the Blyth Festival Art Gallery on Facebook and Instagram.
