Bruce County advised today that the Brant tract timber harvest is now complete and the site will remain closed as trail repairs and tract clean-up are set to begin.

Bruce County Transportation & Environmental  Services estimate that trails will reopen in 3 to 4 weeks.

The closure will also keep additional damage from occurring as the property is experiencing high water levels and soft surfaces due to the spring thaw.

The public is asked to be respectful of the closure while the clean-up is being conducted.

The Brant Tract property is located between Concession 12 and the Brant-Elderslie Townline, east of Bruce Road 3, within the Municipality of Brockton.

The County says the harvesting was conducted to improve forest health as part of the County’s Forest Management Plan.
